A true expression of the Lillooet terroir, this full-bodied wine is expertly hand-crafted from 100% estate grown grapes. Made from the finest barrels in our cellar, Red Gold is intense, complex, and refined. The Cabernet Franc is made in a passimento style, where the grapes are dried to increase their intensity. This cellar worthy blend is comprised of 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc.
This premium blend features 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc grapes were vinified in a passimento style. These grapes were air dried over a period of six weeks. After this process, the grapes had lost nearly 30% of their moisture leaving the winemaker highly concentrated, partially raisinated, Cabernet Franc berries. These berries were then fermented in open top French oak barrels over the period of a month to allow for maximum extraction.
