On the nose, our premium Red Gold offers aromas of intense blackberries and cherries combined with earthy leaves and a dry mossy forest. This beautifully balanced full-bodied wine explores all regions of the palate with lush fruit flavours, spicy oak and a lengthy, smooth finish.
Made with our best grapes, this ultra-premium blend features 43% Cabernet Franc, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon and 26% Merlot. Fruit was sourced from four esteemed BC vineyards: Blind Creek Vineyards in the Similkameen Valley supplied the Merlot, Road 9 Vineyard on the Black Sage Bench in Oliver supplied Cabernet Franc, Roger Pires vineyard in Osoyoos contributed the Cabernet Sauvignon and Fort Berens Estate Winery’s vineyard provided Cabernet Franc. 28% of this blend was made from Cabernet Franc grapes that were vinified in a passimento style. These grapes were air dried over the period of a month. After this process, the grapes had lost nearly 30% of their moisture leaving the winemaker highly concentrated partially raisinated Cabernet Franc berries. These berries were then fermented over the period of a month to allow for maximum extraction. Only a few select barrels of the highest quality outlier barrels of the entire vintage was used for our 2015 Red Gold. These barrels were individually selected by our winemaker who meticulously blended these to create our highest tier red wine.
