90 POINTS and Silver – National Wine Awards of Canada 2022

“Fresh, intense and packed with vibrant orchard fruit.” – Rhys Pender MW, April 2022

Made with grapes from our estate Dry Creek Vineyard, a West Kelowna vineyard, and a small vineyard in Savona. 50% of the grapes were crushed and destemmed and given 6 hours of skin contact before pressing, leading to structure and more aromatics. The remainder was crushed/destemmed and pressed off immediately, giving a fresh component. The wine was fermented cold at 11 degrees to enhance the aromatic profile and then aged for 5 months on the lees to give a full creamy texture.

Vibrant and fresh, this Pinot Gris is bursting with fruity notes of pear and yellow apple, elderflower, and honeysuckle. This fresh and fruit-forward wine is well balanced and perfect for any occasion. Delicious to drink on its own, or pair it with mussels, white fish, or pasta with a cream sauce.

92 POINTS – www.nataliemaclean.com 2022

The grapes for this Chardonnay were sourced from 2 vineyards in Lillooet: 60% came from Fort Berens’ Dry Creek estate vineyard, and 40% from Fraser Bench vineyard. The bunches were crushed and destemmed and left on the skins for 4 hours before pressing. 70% of the Chardonnay was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks to remain its freshness, and 30% was fermented in neutral French oak barrels, to enhance structure and mouthfeel. Blended after 6 months for a great balance.

Made primarily from estate grown Chardonnay grapes, this lightly oaked wine has aromas of citrus, lemon grass and white pear. Medium bodied and creamy, this wine finishes fresh and well rounded.

Pair with sushi and shellfish or creamy pasta dishes.

“Aromatic, fruity and crisp with fresh orchard fruits.” – Rhys Pender MW, April 2022

The grapes for this Riesling were grown at 2 vineyards: the Rise vineyard in Vernon and our Lillooet estate vineyard. The grapes were given 12 hours skin contact after crushing and were then lightly pressed to collect the free run juice. Followed by a long and cold fermentation. After daily tasting, the ferment in stainless steel was arrested naturally by dramatically lowering the core temperature of the wine until it was no longer active. This left just enough residual sugar to balance the higher acid levels traditional in this noble grape variety. Followed by 5 months lees contact before fining and filtering, gave this terroir driven Riesling an elegant and aromatic palate.

Bright and lively with tropical aromas, lychee, muscat, and rose petals, this Riesling is beautifully balanced and features flavours of Honeycrisp apple, pear, and lemon zest. The versatile and slightly off-dry wine pairs with almost anything, but especially sushi, tapas, and spicy Mexican dishes. This is also a great patio sipper.

“Crisp, dry and racy with tree fruits and floral notes.” – Rhys Pender MW, Apr. 2022

The 2020 Fort Berens Dry Riesling fruit was 100% sourced from 2 older blocks in our Dry Creek estate vineyard. The older plants were in a great condition and able to endure the heat spike at the end of June this year without problems. After harvest in October, the fruit was left for 6 hours of skin contact before pressing to extract the best flavours. After a long and cold fermentation, the wine had 5 months lees contact to enhance the mouthfeel. The wine fermented to dry, producing a fresh and lively style of Riesling.

Fresh and mouth-watering, this Dry Riesling has lively notes of pineapple, lemon zest, and ginger spice leading to a fresh and lively aroma of green apple and stone fruit. Rich and medium-bodied, this food-friendly wine pairs beautifully with chicken dishes or sashimi.

This age-worthy wine can be enjoyed now or cellared until 2024.

SILVER – All Canadian Wine Championships 2022

Made from the first vintage with our estate grown Grüner Veltliner grapes from our Red Rock vineyard. The wine had 9 hours skin contact before a light pressing, followed by a cold ferment with an aromatic yeast strain. Then aged for 5 months on the lees to produce a complex, aromatic wine.

This wine features an array of tropical fruit aromas, with hints of passion fruit, orange peel, kiwi fruit and gooseberry. On the palate, find a rounded and creamy texture, combined with fresh and lively notes.

The wine will pair beautifully with Vietnamese food like noodle salad and summer rolls, with fish and chips or goat cheese.

“A vibrant and fresh wine from the first vintage of estate Grüner Veltliner plantings. The nose shows a mixture of green apple, nectarine, lime, lemon verbena, grapefruit, camomile, and white pepper. The palate is dry with medium body and intense flavours ranging from lemon, honeydew melon and Asian pear with a little zesty grip and stony minerality on the long finish.” – Rhys Pender MW, 2022

“Crisp, dry, racy Rosé with fresh red berry fruit.” – Rhys Pender MW, April 2022

Made from 100% Lillooet estate fruit, this wine is composed of 79% Pinot Noir grapes, 13% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc are from our new Red Rock vineyard, planted in 2018. The Pinot Noir is from our Dry Creek vineyard. The grapes were destemmed and crushed to allow for skin contact time of 12 hours. After the perfect colour was achieved, the grapes were lightly pressed, settled and the clean juice racked from the solids. The fermentation was long and cold, to produce an exotic aroma with a fruit forward palate.

Luscious and juicy, this 100% estate grown Rosé features enticing notes of strawberries, raspberries, and cotton candy. A great summer refresher to enjoy on its own or paired with a variety of foods, from a fresh salad to burgers or BBQ chicken skewers.
