SILVER – All Canadian Wine Championships 2022
Made from the first vintage with our estate grown Grüner Veltliner grapes from our Red Rock vineyard. The wine had 9 hours skin contact before a light pressing, followed by a cold ferment with an aromatic yeast strain. Then aged for 5 months on the lees to produce a complex, aromatic wine.
This wine features an array of tropical fruit aromas, with hints of passion fruit, orange peel, kiwi fruit and gooseberry. On the palate, find a rounded and creamy texture, combined with fresh and lively notes.
The wine will pair beautifully with Vietnamese food like noodle salad and summer rolls, with fish and chips or goat cheese.
“A vibrant and fresh wine from the first vintage of estate Grüner Veltliner plantings. The nose shows a mixture of green apple, nectarine, lime, lemon verbena, grapefruit, camomile, and white pepper. The palate is dry with medium body and intense flavours ranging from lemon, honeydew melon and Asian pear with a little zesty grip and stony minerality on the long finish.” – Rhys Pender MW, 2022
