In 1862, John Calbreath brought camels to Lillooet to carry the heavy loads along the trails during the Gold Rush. Although he lost his camels and a small fortune, his pioneering spirit inspired us to champion a new wine region and build a winery in Lillooet. This fruit-forward and expressive red blend features delightful notes of cherries, blackberries, and plums.

Tasting Notes

A fruit-forward red blend expressing lots of dark fruit aromas of plums and mulberries, with hints of dark chocolate and mocha coming through. This medium-bodied red blend with fresh and juicy tannins is ready to be enjoyed now.

Production Notes

37% Cabernet Franc 35% Merlot 11% Cabernet Sauvignon 17% Pinot Noir

Winemaker Notes

This red blend includes a number of varietals, each adding different components to the wine. Merlot and Cabernet Franc provided lots of dark fruit and tannin, while the Pinot Noir provided lovely floral notes. Malolactic fermentation took place in tank with purposefully selected French oak blocks which led to notes of chocolate and mocha. A further maturation of the blend took place in neutral French oak barrels for an additional 4 months to allow the blend to integrate before bottling.
