Updated Spring 2021:
Notes of lime, biscuit, honey, and stone fruit. Rich with a creamy mouthfeel. This wine has aged very well.
Tasting notes at the time of release:
This 2012 Chardonnay is all estate fruit, celebrating our unique Lillooet vineyards. Pale straw in colour, with aromas of fresh peaches, hazelnut, tangerine, and spice. Flavours of pineapple and citrus, kiwi and McIntosh apple. An easy, lingering finish. Ideal match for scallops or poached salmon, and long conversations.
Awards
2010 vintage: GOLD – New World International Wine Competition 2012
Winemaker Notes
This is our first 100% estate grown Chardonnay. The Chardonnay from our estate vineyard was picked on September 20th at 23.0 Brix with a low yield of 2.5 tons per acre. About 30% of the volume was fermented in new and used French barrels, while the remainder was fermented cool in stainless steel tanks. About a third of the Chardonnay was aged in French barrels for 9 months until bottling on June 15th 2013.
Other Notes
Wine is approaching its peak, but can be cellared until 2020-2022.
